Riverwinds Tri

Today, mama completed a bucket list. I've always wanted to compete in a tri type race. But with a bad hip and knee, it seemed beyond the realm of possibility.
But today, Mama officially completed her first aqua bike. And Dad well he completed his first tri. Now grant you, this was a sprint style race but huge accomplishment nonetheless.

Lessons learned

We have an elite athlete in the family. As in the guy next to me said the elite athletes are going now. Say, was that Dada that just jumped in? And is he the only one doing the backstroke? I kid, Dada really is a special athlete who is very dedicated and fast. He rocks.

Mama still has some game. May not be the fastest in the field. But darn it, I finished and still felt pretty darn good. And to those two women who blocked my swim path, move out of Mama's way

The little guy is one lucky guy. PopPop and MomMom got up really early to bring him to watch us race. Pretty special. And awesome to hear them cheer as we made transition

This family is close and supportive. Afterward, we headed to our fav dinner to get our chow down. Which wasn't easy because someone was super tired by then. I don't need a nap Mama, really.

Little guy, always go for your dreams. And don't let obstacles get in your way. Life's a journey. It's way more fun when it's fulfilling!
