Week in Rewind: April 18

The little guy was one happy camper this week. He's been asking for months about going into work with mommy. So yesterday, we headed in for take your kids to work day. The big winner: taking two trains in the morning.  He simply beamed and proudly said that he thought Percy was pulling us.

Once in the office, he claimed Mommy's desk. And while looking out the window said look at all of those big houses!  We then headed downstairs for the presentation and the kids taking of the oath of service....which totally cracked the parents up. The Chair said please stand, raise your right hand, and repeat after me: I (please state your name)... Which resulted in the kids saying I, please state your name.

After lunch, we headed out in the frigid weather to a close park. Not much there but building blocks and lots and lots of wind. Unfortunately the office moved to downtown which is not as kid friendly. As the little guy said, whoa there are lots of people and sirens...yep buddy

This week, the little guy also told us about love. While driving back home from school, he simply said, this song is about love mommy.  Now I have to say, the song wasn't a romantic ballad, but rather a bee bop of melody...but to each his own. That's love, baby.

Week in Rewind: April 12

It's been a busy week here. Plenty of sports action. Soccer on Friday. TBall on Saturday. And I have to say the little guy does pretty well.

The grandparents came out of check out his mad skills on Saturday. And someone did not disappoint. Running the bases. Hitting.  And, of course, plenty of red Gatorade...which led to a very red tongue and lips.

This week also saw the return of spring weather. Holller. I love this time of year, with the flowers all coming out. And just my luck, the little guy brought some beautiful yellow flowers from the park. Any guesses which type😜. And no, not daffodils.

Week in Rewind: April 9

And so it begins. The little guy is officially registered for kindergarten. Now needs to take the test to make sure ready. This week we also picked up his pre school pictures. And found the below gem. The little guy in his graduation hat and gown. Yes it's sad and I can't believe how fast....But we've been talking a lot to him about embracing change. And growing personally. I like to ask him what are the two most important body parts and he responds your hear and head. Heart for love. Head for character.

Speaking of growth. The little guy is doing so well in both sports (yes there has been no soccer because of rain)..but he's jumped right into tball. Tomorrow we celebrate opening day.  Strike up your best John Foferty:

Oh put me in coach, I'm ready to play today. Put me in coach I'm ready to play today Look at me I can be center field.

Or Rollingstones: it's only rock n roll but I like it...for my little rock star

Last weekend we also celebrated Easter. Someone had a totally awesome time. Can you say brunch..and unlimited eating. Let's just say, the boy had his fair share. We then headed back to the grandparents for a hunt and plenty of play time with Pop Pop and the cousins.
And he actually told us the story of Easter. I have to say the boy got most of the story right.

The best part, he gave some of his candy to his Korean tutor,  all about the heart baby!

Week in Rewind: Mar 30

Take me out to the ball game. Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks. I don't care if I ever go back.

This week we've been totally washed out with soccer. But the weather gods have shined brightly for tball.  The little guy had his 1st practice on Wednesday.  He was a little apprehensive before we left, but once there jumped right in. Prayers Up!  He was a little nervous about catching the ball. But once seeing that literally no one can catch, he relaxed. Which is funny, because mommy cringed. It's going to be long innings!  But someone played short stop...that's my boy

And we did an Easter Egg hunt at the church. Someone zoomed in like a mad man. And immediately opened his eggs to see what was inside..lots and lots of chocolate. Oh boy!

As we head into Easter we're, once again, reminded how lucky we are as a family. It's a little quiet without the Inlaws in town.  But we'll make the most of it. Up next: coloring eggs. And this time I will figure out that dipper.

Happy Easter everyone.
