Headed Home.
We had a great trip to NY. Expensive yes, but a great life experience. It's the little things in life
It started with a crying little boy and two brave women. We weren't worried because they are very seasoned. The question became who would break first. My bet was Trojan
We arrived to the activity of Penn Station and not knowing how to get out of the darn place. But we managed and decided to walk to the hotel. And through the excitement of Times Square. Ladies, sorry to say, but no we did not see the guitar playing cowboy in his undies. An epic failure on our part for sure
Spent the evening with Uncle Michael, Aunt Jaime and Russ. No fried chicken after labor day, say what. Do you know what good nature ribbing gets you for not having said chicken, complimentary dessert. Holler!
Saturday brought game day. Pretty neat to come down the subway steps to a sea of Cardinal N Gold. We navigated through a train and bus ride, but darn it, we made it. Loud and proud decked out in our Trojan gear
Say are those storm clouds. Actually we knew there was a tornado watch for the entire game but that didnt stop our insanity. An hour long severe thunderstorm, however, did. We bunkered down near the men's restroom. You can never be too safe during a Tornado watch. Uncle Michael, on the other hand, spent his time a little differently an air conditioned club room serving beverages. Say what...
Rain, rain and more rain was our return trip. But that doesn't stop us Trojans. We laugh at the stuff and proudly walk our mile and half in search of good old NY pizza near the hotel. Yummy
Which brings us to our favorite moment. The train ride home. Pop Pop found a new friend to sit with. Let's just say someone needed a bath and it wasn't us. No worries, we Trojans stick together. We quickly secured 3 new seats and left with a new friend request on Facebook
So son many lessons here. Have life experience (especially with friends and family), never let a little Tornado warning get in your way of an SC game, be loud and proud in your SC gear (your in good company) and most importantly never EVER sit next to a smelly man on the train. By the way were pretty sure there's an entrance to Penn Station by Madison Garden, but we never found it. Instead, we walked down a block and then promptly circled back underground The moral: Sometimes it's better to take the long way for the ride. Fight On!
