Cape May

Yesterday, we went down to Cape May for the day.  And it was a beauty.  Perfect weather.

We were blessed to have a couple of rock stars with us.  The pups made the trek down with us and were a huge hit.  There were so many people who raved about them and wanted to pet them.  Our first clue should have been while we were parking.  A group of ladies backed into their parking spot and promptly pulled down their window to say that the girls were beautiful.  It's always nice to see the smiles that they bring others.

It's A Beautiful Day

Today was a crazy weather day.  It started cloudy with the threat of rain, which kept us close to home.  But then mid afternoon, the storm clouds lightened and the beautiful sun came out.  Nothing like a perfectly blue sky.

Freeze & Show Your Hands

Ok, we all know that the little guy loves his food.  But today, he brought that love to new heights.  While we were sitting in the family room, he attempted to sneak off and steal our stash in the pantry.  Luckily, we caught him in the act.  Perhaps, his shouts of umha and grunts of frustrations gave his ploy away....

My Boy Can Dunk

I can not deny that secretly I've been hoping that he'll be a basketball player.  And today, we made our first step toward NBA stardom.  A crushing dunk over daddy.  Ok, so daddy was sitting on the patio chair.  But still, very impressive.

Lovin His Sleep

The last two days we have been a little off with our nap.  But today, the little guy is lovin his sleep.  He's been a deep sleep for two hours and shows no signs of waking.  I just captured this unique pose.

You may notice some new bruises on his forehead and nose.  The little guy took a tumble while walking and pretty much did a face plant.  After a quick cry, he dusted himself off and went on with his business.

Baby Einstein

To say that the little guy is inquisitive would be an understatement.  I mentioned earlier that we are in the process of learning different animals.  And Baby Einstein is in an important part of that process (in fact, it is the only time that he isn't in some type of motion).  Thank you Uncle Jason and Aunt Toni for sharing their CDs.

This morning the little guy plopped himself down on my lap and pointed to the computer.  We spent a good hour dancing, pointing and clapping through the animal section.  I'll be singing Old MacDonald during my sleep!

Philadelphia Zoo

Yesterday, Pop Pop and Ma Ma invited us to join them in visiting the Philadelphia Zoo.  Can you tell someone had such a blast that it totally put him into a deep animal filled sleep?

Giraffes

We saw lots of animals.  There was lots of finger pointing.  And the occasional use of the word "Duck". Yes, these days everything is either Duck or Dada...well, at least he's getting the D words down.

Man versus Wild

During lunch, we were approached by a goose.  Let's just say that the little guy wasn't into sharing his food.  Which resulted in an intense stare down between the two.  Of course, the little guy, with his intense devotion to food, won the day!

Red Panda

Pop Pop whistled to this Red Panda who climbed up the tree to give us a look.  Isn't he cute?  One of my favorites.

Children's Petting Zoo

There was the children's petting zoo where the little guy was able to get up close and personal with different farm animals.  We even got to see a cow, the little guy's favorite.  He likes to do the "moo" sound.

Grandpa Linn

Country boy at heart.  My grandfather would be so proud.

There was this comical moment where Pop Pop was attempting to feed the Ducks when a Pigeon plopped on his hand.  I don't think the little guy knew what to make of such a strange bird.  And a new first for Pop Pop, a pigeon eating out of his hand.  Cross that one off the bucket list!

Mr. Poopy Pants Strikes Again

Let's be honest.  The little guy has turned into a little bit of a stinker today.  As we laid him down for his nap, I swear there was a glint of rebellion in those eyes.  That was promptly followed by a bunch of little guy babble.  Could he possibly be scheming something?  Surely, not from such a sweet little boy.

As he went into deep sleep, all seemed right in the world.  That is, until he awoke three hours later.  As we approached his room, things seemed quiet normal.  And then I bent down to pick him up.  That's when we both noticed, someone was missing not only his pants but his diaper (a rare feat).   And yes, the little guy left quiet a nice present after his nap.  Lucky for me (not so lucky for Mike), it was his turn to take care of poopy.  After lots of gagging sounds (men are such wimps), all is well in our family.  But in the end, Mr. Poopy Pants Strikes Again!

Medal

Today, Mike ran the Dragon Rule 5K while the little guy and I walked the 1 mile event.  And the hubby did great.  I was just finishing my walk when he came racing toward the finish line.  Way to go daddy.
I have to admit.  It is a little hard not being able to run anymore (the hip injury was the final factor).  Sure, I do other forms of exercise, but there is nothing like the adreline from running.

When we finished, the little guy got a medal.  His first race.  And it's a great race that started 5 years ago when a high school boy died suddenly from brain cancer.  His family started the race as a memorial and it has raised money which goes for scholarships.  A great community cause.

Wait A Minute

I might have sampled a few.  Well, ok a hand full but they were really small.

This darn technology is making it hard for me to get a way with anything.

Happy Birthday Uncle Michael

Hope you are having a great day.  Wish we were there to help celebrate.  By the way, you did get an early present with the Cowboys win over the Niners (poor Z).

Can't wait to share an SC football game with you and the little guy.  We're still working on the "Fight On" sign in honor of Uncle Michael.

Love you.  And to many more Happy Birthdays....

Someone isn't happy

While getting our Halloween stuff out, we came across this little gem.  Last year, we found this witch hat at a pet store and thought it was perfect for Mattie.  The only problem, someone wasn't happy when it went on....and after a year's time still isn't happy.

Linvilla Orchards

This morning, we successfully picked out our pumpkin.  Mike used to go Linvilla as a kid so it was nice to go back there.  We might be back on a weekend when the corn maze, hayrides and pony rides will be open.  This place has a little bit of everything.  Darn good bake goods (I'm just saying that someone may have had an apple dumpling as lunch).  A petting zoo with roosters, cows and sheep.  And miles of orchards where you can get strawberries, apples and blueberries, while things are in season.

It's a pretty neat place to visit and is family owned.  The cherry jam was a big hit with the little guy.

Scary

Oh, that's just daddy!

With the pumpkins

I think daddy picked out the biggest one in the lot.

Moo

Duck

We may be on Duck overload.  As we head into nap time, we must have heard Duck a few dozen times.

Word Play

Something that quakes:  DUCK.  Mike & I were just reading to him when it clearly came out.  Oh sure, there are the occasional mumbles that sound almost like words...but not quiet.  But DUCK came out loud and clear.  Which was promptly followed by DUCK for every other item that we pointed out.

He also now knows how to say "Moo" for cow and does the cutiest arm move for Monkey Monkey Monkey.  And he loves Baby Einstein.  It's cute to watch his little face as he tries to figure things out.  There is a lot of finger pointing.

Our personal favorite: he continues to say Uhma for food.  Which I believe is technically mother in Korea.  We don't want to change that one just yet....it's too cute to hear him say it.  And yes, this word is very loud and clear.  Our boy is an eater!

Soon we will be off to bed.  But not before a quick vacuum of the family room---I kid you not!

New Jersey State Acquariam

What's the saying: when the world gives you a lemon make lemon aid.  Well, that's exactly what we did today.  We had originally planned to visit an orchard to pick our pumpkins for the house.  But, the weather didn't cooperate.  So, instead we headed into Camden to their amazing acquariam.  Can you tell that someone was excited?

Fish, Mama

This was a well timed trip because we have been learning different animals.  And fish has been one of them.  Aren't they pretty!

Penguin Mama

Although the Penguin exhibit was under construction (darn it), they did bring out a lone one to entertain us.  Those whacky Penguins are always fun to watch.  And this one was darn cute.  Someone, however, was more interested in pushing the stroller around.  March of the Penguins...

It's Alive

Mike's only comment "those crab legs sure look good".

Last of my summer flowers

The weather has turned cooler and you can tell that the endless summer is starting to wane.  So, I decided to cut the last of my fresh flowers from the garden.  Not much, but still beautiful.  And yes, the roses are from great grandmom's.

Who's walking who

Since it's been cool outside today, we took the dog walking practice indoors.  And someone wasn't happy?  No, not the little one.  Miss Mattie.  She's not a big fan of being paraded around by the little guy with his stops and goes.  So, it was pretty interesting to watch the two of them interact together.  For his part, the little guy stumbled and giggled throughout the session.  I wonder what the Dog Whisper would be make of all of this?

Did you notice the Eagles jersey?  Yes, Mike found this little gem at a store in Mullica Hill.  It's a neat little shop that buys/sells slightly used children's stuff. So, we paid it a visit last Friday.  The real kicker: the owner is herself adopted from Korea.  So, when we mentioned that we were just getting back from Seoul her eyes lit up.  Safe to say that we'll be going back to this store.

Fly Eagles Fly

This poor kid is definitely getting his taste of football (pro and college).  If he isn't throwing a tight spiral by next year, I would be surprised.

Fun with the Family

Today, we headed over to Mike's family for a fun filled day.  It was the little guy's first opportunity to play with his cousins, Kadi and JJ.  Kadi did such a nice job of showing the little guy the ropes.  We are really lucky that he'll have cousins around his same age.  It will be nice to see them grow up together.

Playing with Uncle Jack

This is definitely a match made in heaven.  Why, you may ask?  Because Uncle Jack and the little guy share a common trait---big hands.  From the very beginning, we couldn't believe the size of the little guy's hands.  They are huge.  He mauls his sippy cup and palms a ball with a single hand, with no problems.

You know what they say?  A guy with a big hand.....must have a big heart.  For what you others were thinking, please get your mind out of the gutters!

Playing Piano

This must be one musical family.  Kadi played piano with mommy.  The little guy and JJ grooved in the background.  The little guy was also busy giving Great Grandmom tons of kisses (these are not given out lightly so she must be special).

The little guy also got a very special blanket and pillow from his grandparents.  Very nice and so soft.  I might have to sneak a nap on the pillow myself!  And he also got a musical farm toy to put on the fridge, which is perfect because we have been learning different types of animals.

To finish the night off, the little guy got ice cream from Pop Pop and Great Grandmom.  Someone knows how to turn on the charm to get the sweets!
