Week in Rewind: Jan 28

So last weekend, we did get hit with close to a two foot blizzard. And I'm not going to lie, Saturday was a long day. We woke to close to a foot of snow. Shoveled out a path for the girls...because these girls need grass to do their business. Ate lunch.  Watched the snow fall all day long. Listened to the hollowing winds. By night fall, this mommy was officially done with it. And we had electric, Mike's parents did not.

So when the sun rose on Sunday morning...we woke with a new resolve. Clean up and then lots and lots of play time. And the boy loved every moment of it. Check out his ice fort. We spent two days making it and it has its own tunnel system.

As for the girls, they love the snow. We laughed as Bella charged the highest drift, barked wildly and then dropped through the bank. But as I said, it's all fun and games until they come inside with thousands of tiny snowballs on their fur. And it drives them mad,,,

In a nutshell, we survived the Blizzard of 2016. I'm just happy that high 50 forecast are in the near future--short weather ladies!

Week in Rewind: Jan 22

As we sit here preparing for a blizzard this weekend, it occurred to me it's man versus the wild.  It's armeggedon here, people..just listen to those over the top newsmen.  There will be lots and lots of snow.   So accordingly, we are bunkering in for the long haul, which to my best guess is the better of three days or whenever the sun rises again, it's really too tough to call.

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup: check
Hot Cholcolate: check
Bread, breaks, bread: check. (Say, why do we need so much bread.  I don't know but I have 2 loaves).
And enough sweets to keep the boy preoccupied for a month.

Take that blizzard.

So while it's blowing outside, we'll be inside dreaming of the pool. And the little guy will be plotting how to take out this 6 foot, girl, sparing partner.

Week in Rewind: Jan 15

I'm not sure how it happened but we missed a week. But we're back baby and better than ever...

We've been slowly grinding our way through winter. And when we get one of those unseasonably warm days, we are out and about like gang busters.  Last weekend, we were out with the little guy's modernized big wheel, which he got for Christmas. This thing is awesome. When you brake, it spins out in the back. Unfortunate, mommy and daddy are a little too big for it...so instead we race around on his Razor.  Can you say, I feel the need for speed..

The little guy is also working his way through kindergarten. Very proud of him. He's doing great. We read each night and work on our numbers.  And he tells me about his day, mommy loves this time with him.

This weekend, he's doing a karate clinic with (gulp) weapons. Two wooden sticks, while child size, look painful. And don't get me started with the nunchucks.  Master Q has told us that the little guy is going to participate in a big karate outing in March and meet the Grand Master, who is Korean.
