The Day After

The day after was spent putting up the Christmas lights. And you'll notice the Lowes sign because no light adventure is complete without going there at least two times.  We definitely missed Uncle Dick and his wealth of outdoor decor knowledge.  Instead, we totally winged it. And let's just say for a moment mommy was a little scared. But in the end, it all came together and we don't look too bad. The Griswold's we are not.

And while we were working away Chickie the Elf made his appearance. Holler!!!!   Now, to remember to move each night...

I'm going to say it. We totally made a turkey tonight with gravy and mashed potatoes.  Score. And there are plenty of leftovers...but something tells me that won't last long.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving.  Yesterday, we spent the day with the grandparents and great grandmom.  We didn't cook this year because my side of the family is out west. And I have to say the meal was awesome....but we missed cooking.  Someone, however, enjoyed the food, especially the deserts. and trust me when I said we had our fill, as in over 2 hours worth. If we would have timed it a little better, we could have paced ourselves for lunch, dinner...and a itsy bitsy snack.

We then headed back to the grandparents...where the little guy found the Legos. The little guy spent his time schooling us on all things Lego.

He clearly has a partner in crime in Pop Pop, who took the brunt of the little guy's orneriness.

But there was s much to be thankful for.  We have two wonderful families who mean the world to us. As the little guy said, "I'm thankful for mommy and daddy, the girls, family close by, and family far away". Well said indeed.

Week in Review: Nov 19

This week mommy went to watch the little guy at school. And it was so cool to watch.

They performed traditional Indians dances. And answered all kinds of questions about their lifestyle. But mommy's heart was warmed with how excited he was to show off his kindergarten life. The best part, he came home early with mommy....where he said proudly said, "I love you". We love you too buddy

When we got home, I found him in the laundry basket watching Sponge Bob. That's my boy

Week in Rewind: Nov 13

Another fast week. The little guy continued his quest for karate nirvana. Those round house kicks are coming right along. And he now know a lot of the body parts in Korean.

The little guy and I also spent last Friday together because school was closed. Can you say whirlwind!  Driving range, putt putt, park with wooden castles, bike ride, basketball, base ball and walk of the dogs---whew.

We also celebrated this little lady's 25th birthday, as described by the little guy. Someone also enjoyed his time with the cousins. And please note the hat. We went shopping last weekend for "long sleeve clothes" for the little guy. Daddy and he walked out of the store with a "short sleeve" polo shirt (bright neon yellow, I might add) and this hat. It has become quiet clear to this mama, that someone other than those two need to make clothing decisions.

Week in Rewind: Nov 6

I love me some Indian Summer. In two words, perfect weather.  And we've made the most of it. Bike rides, check. Long walks with the dogs, check. Shooting baskets...wait, what. Yes ladies, the little guy has begun to perfect his round ball game.  Oh how mommy has dream of this day.  The boy, for his part, has incredible strengthen for his age. Hulk like if you will. And amazingly, mommy has him shooting with proper form.  Not like daddy's two handed shot. And when mommy pointed this out to daddy. Someone graciously said, "daddy, this weekend I can teach you how to shoot".  Schooled by a five year old, holler!

And this week, we celebrated two birthdays.  His super cool Mom Mom turned (in his words) 25... Not too shabby. And Teddy turned 2.  Both have totally rocked the little guy's world.  And yes, Teddy got a candle lit brownie.  But as the little guy pointed out, "mommy, I better eat it because Teddy has no mouth"
