Week in Rewind: Jan 26

It was one of those quiet weeks. In fact, I just realized...no new pictures of the little guy.

Let's see, we battled an imaginary blizzard. Plenty of snow coverage...no actual snow

Mommy made daddy go out pre-storm to buy a portable generator....he'll thank me some day, just not this week

Z has another cold and mommy is really starting to feel it too. Darn u colds

The dogs have not moved in days...ok, for food and potty. What a life

The little guy took plenty of pictures of his favorite new show: octanats. Oh the joy

We're booked for spring. 5 year old soccer..now with games on Friday night...and big boy karate.

And let's not forget the road trip to McDonald's post karate.

A week with no real events but plenty of action

Foster Mom

I'm not sure why, but today I felt a strong presence towards the little guy's foster mom. The family was so lovely. And we're quiet lucky because they snapped a ton of pictures for us.

Prayers up for special people in this world.

Week in Rewind: Jan 23

This week, the little guy and mommy headed to the movies to see Paddington. Mommy had the day off so we rushed over to the theater.   Only to find a madhouse. A line almost out the door...but a quick thinking mommy grabbed her iphone and bought them online....and right before it sold out. Isn't technology great. Finding a seat together, not so great. So, the little guy sat on Mommy's lap. But, we still had fun. And someone laughed heartily.

Let it snow. Let it snow. Let it snow. So, we've had a bit of snow this week. Couple of inches. But someone was super excited when the flakes first started. I never saw someone grab a snowsuit and boots so fast. Please note, the lack of snow on the actual ground

What better way to warm up, then with covers and Paw Patrol.

Week in Rewind: Jan 16

Another quick week in this household. Mommy was down in a Baltimore for part of the week...which made for some funny daddy and little guy time, all captured by mommy on FaceTime.
The first night should have been an indicator for daddy. The boy was wound up like a mad man Daddy desperately trying to get him to eat.  Quiet comical until the inevitable spill....Tuesday night started better, until the little guy grabbed his phone and proceeded to take thousands of pictures...all without an unsuspecting daddy. He would snap a picture and then turn giggling toward me. Daddy in the background, probably cleaning another spill. It was quiet clear, the boy was winning. At some point, daddy muttered 1 more hour to bed...at 7.

I arrived home, peppered with many questions about my train ride. Yes, mommy rode Gordon home. No, I did not see Thomas. Yes, I'm sure Thomas was in for repairs. No, Clanky was no where to be seen. Whew, I think I cleared those hurdles well enough.

I also learned that the little guy has grand plans for a new pizza. As we talked about daddy's healthy pizza, he suddenly said, "I want daddy to make my pizza with chocolate chips, peanut butter, and get this...hamburger". Does that sound good mommy?  You go for it, buddy!

And now, by far the best moment of the week. The little guy in karate practice with his game face on...the little girl next to him, totally cracking up.

Week in Rewind: Jan 6

It's been a quick week for us. We arrived safely home from vacation. And jumped into the new year

Hello winter. We've been stuck in freezing temperatures this week. And no one is happy...well not exactly no one. Someone was super excited by the snow. So much so, he got home from school and immediately ran outside.  In his words, to build a snowman. Unfortunately for him, it was light fluffy snow...so the snowman became a small hill.

And the pups. Well, they've been milling around the house. No walks. Quick potty breaks. And snuggling under the covers.   But very observant of all the little birds hopping around the deck.

Despite the cold, the little guy returned to karate. Kicking and giggling his way through class.
He got a hair cut and found their chocolate stash...eating a good portion of it
I'm also proud to report, he's finally paying attention to books.
In other words, we transitioned right into 2015
And dreaming of spring...,
