Week in Rewind: October 31

Happy Halloween!  I'm Batman (cue raspy, dark voice). KaPoooow.....Ladies, are dreams have come true.. The little guy seriously wants to be Batman when he grows up.  Lofty goals indeed.  And when we introduced the Bat Mobile, let's just say we rocked his world

Meanwhile at the old homestead, we're loaded up with candy. Tonight is Trick Or Treat...and someone totally gets the treat aspect.  I, for one, am a little scared of candy overload. I mean, yesterday at karate was a group of ravished, candy addicted little ones all running around. And last night, the boy tossed and turned in anticipation.  This could get scary, literally.

Enjoy your Halloween everyone. And remember:

He did the mash.
He did the monster mash.
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash.
He did the mash
It caught on in a flash
He did the mash
The monster mash

To the Batcave, Robin...

Week in Rewind: Oct 23

This past weekend we went to a friend's birthday party. And someone had a blast.  Hayrides, a kid's size corn mase, and lots of straw throwing.  The boy seems to have some country in him. Did I mention the straw?  We're still digging out.

Lately, the little guy has described some of his wild dreams. And they're really cute. The best so far revolves around him rescuing Teddy from a swarm of butterflies, inside a dark cave. Interesting, no. He always tells it with a flare for the dramatic. So, it's super duper cute.

It's almost here ladies. Halloween. And a batman suit. Need I say more.

Week in Rewind: Oct 17

It's going to be a quick post. Mommy is still in the field and it's been a busy week.

First up, the costum has arrived. And ladies, we have one darn cute Batman.  We've been working on our Batman voice. You know, that deep, gruffly I'm Batman.  The theme song is pretty cool to hear too...although the little guy is a tad slow with it. So, I imagine a slow, drawn out, chase scene. NA.   NA.    NA. NA. You get the point, slow....

We made it to the pool this weekend. Surf's Up Ladies. Someone was super excited.  I think we have ourselves a swimmer.

And on Monday, the little guy and mommy made it to the pumpkin patch. Someone discovered Country Air. Can you tell he barely sat for a pic?  I finally bribed him to sit on a pumpkin. It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

Week in Rewind: Oct 10

So long summer.  As the temperatures fall and the days turn dark earlier, someone really starts to dread what comes next.  Yes, mommy is not a fan of winter. In fact, I dread and hate it. But not the little guy. As we sat eating our last Rita's, he suddenly wanted to know when it would snow. Snow, really!!!   Does the boy not know that mommy has to ease into this transition.

The boy continues his quest in karate.  The trick, telling him that Batman is a karate kicking machine. From then on, he's been all business in class.  After all, it's hard work training to be the next Batman (his stated dream in life).  I ask would it not be nice to see daddy and the little guy in that combo for Halloween??   The little guy in his fake muscle filled custom and daddy in green tights.  To the bat cave, Robin.

Speaking of bats, I completely forgot we went to the zoo a few weeks ago. Maybe because someone was not on his best behavior.  But we endured. And the little guy does seem to have an affinity for all things bat (true story, we skipped that room).  Nonetheless, we saw lots of animals. And someone monkeyed around with a particular statute.  We then went to a pirate festival.  Aargh, me ladies, can you help me find my lost treasure. Ok, ok, so there were a lot of pirates and winches running around, but the little guy had his eye on a particular sword that lights up.  Lucky us with the earlier, darker nights!  Aargh!

Week in Rewind: Oct 3

This past weekend we hit gold with this little putt putt discovery. A pretty nice 36 hole course complete with waterfalls and bi-level holes. For the little guy, none of that really matters. He's all about speeding through each hole, on his quest for golfing nirvana. Never mind that he managed to launch the ball into a very big bush and careen his ball into a raging stream. The boy has already figured out "mulligans"

The little guy is quickly becoming best buds with a neighbor friend. Mommy picked up both of them from school. And to say that they had fun would be an understatement. The hard part was getting them to leave for soccer.

Batter up. The little guy has discovered baseball.....Or as he likes to say, that game where I hit the ball and you chase me.  Now technically, he doesn't get base running. But he sure can wiggle and waggle out of a tag.

Mommy does her dragon boat race this weekend. And it's going to be a wet and cold one. Thank goodness, I have plenty of Goretex.
