Week in Rewind: August 29

Not the best of pictures, but someone did the ice bucket challenge. And boy did he do it, as in several freezing cold times.  There was the surprise attack during daddy's challenge. Someone was not ready and very unhappy when daddy ambushed him. There was Mommy's challenge and the do over from nominating someone who had already done it. And then there was his very own, where he proudly nominated his cousins.  The boy likes dumping ice water over his head, crazy no?  Pretty cool concept. Really awful disease. Here's to you Uncle Dick and the eradication of ALS

Someone had his first field trip this week. He loved the bus ride but was even more impressed with the butterscotch krimpets from Tastykake. Oh boy. We rocked his world this week with these scrumptious goodies.

As we celebrate Labor Day weekend, we head into football season. Or as the little guy likes to say with his USC stuff...mommy, get my football tshirt. And now we have him dancing to the fight song. Can dating a Song Girl be that not far off from the future????

Week in Rewind: August 20

This week started with another trip to the vet for my baby. Turns out, she had a GI infection. One hundred dollars later and we left with medicine and a promise toward less sightings of Mrs. Poopypants

The little guy has totally been into "dreams" lately. To be honest, I had no idea even knew what it meant to dream. But he does. And turns out, he remembers them. And his biggest dream, always revolves around firemen.

We also discovered that the little guy loves Popsicles. Now, I hadn't had one of them for years...but once you start you can't quit. And I hate to admit that our nightly routine consists of dinner and a Popsicle.

Say, are those Mommy's socks on the little guy.  The little guy was born with massive feet. And the scary part, they continue to get bigger and bigger.

Last Day in OC

Today was more of the same. We started with little sleep. My baby girl was up all night with poppy pants. So that delayed our start. But once we made OC, there were plenty of sand castles, rides and pizza.

Happy Day

Three years ago today we officially brought the little guy into our family. It's a day filled with a lot of emotions. This little guy means so much to us.

We spent the day doing some of his favorite things : beach, miniature golf and eating!

We love you Silly Goose.

Week in Rewind: August 15

Friday marks the three year anniversary of picking up the little guy in Korea.  On the one side, it's scary how fast the time has gone. On the other, it feels like he's been our son for a very long time.  Weird how that works.

Those first moments were a bit rough, for sure. We had arrived early at the agency, settled in a room with no windows and patiently waited.  Nervousness and anticipation all rolled up into one hot mess. Then the door opened, in walked our son, life never to be the same.

It's weird thinking back on those days. A child we didn't know, about to travel with us to America.  How brave this little boy.  What a leap of faith by his birth mother.  How determined we were to make his life special.

Today, we know every fiber of his being.  A well rounded four year old, who is wise beyond his years. He can be stubborn as a mule.  Quick with a funny glance. Loving to the core. He's surrounded by great friends and family.   Still has part of his culture: Korean tutor and karate.

He's an amazing little boy.

Week in Rewind: August 8

It was a short week for us. The little guy is still down at the shore with family. Mommy headed to DC for work. And daddy, well, I'm not entirely sure what he did while we were gone.

So, this week went to the dogs. Our three little furry creatures live the life. Rock stars at the park. Treats on demand. And plenty of sleeping.  Does life get better?   And with the little guy not around, these three little ladies have celebrated. And by celebrated, I mean they didn't sleep with one eye open. And who can blame them, the little guy makes a little game of totally bothering them.  So needless to say, they have enjoyed their week reprieve.

But like any great nemesis, the boy shall return. And with that the Death Star stare downs shall return. The question who will blink first?

Week in Rewind: August 1

This is going to be a quick post. Mommy spent the last few days in DC and admittedly is beat.

This week, we went to the local fair. The little guy did some horseback riding. Giddy Up. And we saw lots of farm animals.

We also started up again with karate. His Master's team finished 3rd in a world championship. And his daughter was a key reason. Four girls with black belts not to shabby.

It's a bitter sweat day for me. The little guy is headed to the beach with family. Which is great for him for the memories. With that said, Mommy is a nervous wreck. Long way to drive and it looks like rain. I'll just be happy when they get there. It certainly will be a quiet week without him.
