Week in Rewind: Feb 28

It was a busy week in this household. Let's start with the Return of the Grasshopper.

The little guy did awesome yesterday in karate. Fully participated-fully listened. There is a moral in this story. The others started fast.  From day one, no butt in the air, doing all commands (show offs, if you will).  But not our little grasshopper. (With this one, the force is strong, my friends). No, the little guy warmed into it, feeling his oats. And somewhere along the way, the boy totally got it.

Which gets me back to yesterday. Three of the strong starters had mini meltdowns. One bawled after the Master slammed his pads together for quietness. Not the little guy, he simply sat there, with a silent confidence of "is that all you got". The other two were given timeouts for bad behavior.  Again, the little guy had the look of "been there-done that".  Nothing rattles the boy. Instead he sat quietly, and womped the heck out of the pads when it was his turn. And after each of his session, he gave Mama a big nod and smile, as if to say "I got this Mama"

Happy Birthday Daddy

And then there was Daddy's birthday. Mom Mom and Pop Pop came over to make the night special.  And Mama learned a valuable lesson, never give the boy chocolate after 8pm(but that's another story)

The little guy is really lucky to have such a cool dad in his life. I often enjoy just listening to them talk to each other.  And I see a lot of golf time in both of their future.

Happy Birthday to an awesome daddy!

Ladies, dare I say a man in uniform.  Lately, the little guy has been totally into anything cop or fireman related. Ladies, this is a man of action, saving old women, young kittens and the rest of America from ourselves. A tough job, no.  But this little boy is determined to do it.

And when we found this  hugely, oversized cop helmet, need I say more.

Week in Rewind: Feb 21

Baby, it's warm outside?  After starting the week in a deep freeze, we now stand at 60 degrees.  That means, Mama went running outside for the first time in weeks. And in shorts, holler

Let's see. This week saw the little guy continue his love for everything Thomas.  The boy can watch one show after another and never be bored. Simply wow. Who knew it was that easy to keep him entertained.

And then there was this breaking news.  The little guy fully participated in karate. Yeah!

Did anyone check out Team USA and the bobsleigh. Baby, those are some big boys...and some of them frankly looked a little wide around the edges. Which got me to thinking, Top 10 Olympic Sports the little guy would excel (cue the Olympic theme song)....

1.  Teakwondo- who knew.  If only the grasshopper continues to listen..
2.  Men figure skating- Mama, I look awesome in these tight uniforms.
3. Sky jumping- Eddie the Eagle has nothing on the boy
4. Badminton- Mama, I'll beat that little thing into submission
5. Bobsleigh: imagine the push that boy could generate, with no beer gut
6. Curling- really, let's be honest, not much skill involved, I've got it covered Mama
7. Synchronized swimming- Mama, where the girls at?
8. Water polo: tall, dark and handsome, ladies
9. Cycling BMX- have you seen him on his balance bike. Mad skills baby

And last but not least....

10. Swimming:  speedos ladies

Week in Rewind: Feb 14

Me armoire. The little guy got up to proclaim that Mommy and Daddy are his Valentine. That's right ladies, the way to this little guy's heart is through his mother. Happy Valentine's Day our beautiful little boy

Alright. We all knew it was coming. The dreaded Nor'easter. You know those awful storms which dump uncountable amounts of snow, sleet, rain and wind on us. Let's just say we got hit. As in close to a footnote of snow. Which quickly got us thinking about summer vacations. And warm weather! Awe, the bliss of lovely summer evenings...can't wait

Tomorrow, we head to the Ringling Bro Circuis. And the boy is excited. We see clowns, Mommy? I'll try posting pictures later.

Ok, I really thought it might be impossible. But oh yes, the impossible occurred. The boy woke up this morning with some funky bedroom hair. A rare feat, for sure. So, Mommy had to take some pics. Mommy, the ladies can't see me like this. A boy has a reputation to maintain!

Week in Rewind; Feb 6th

This week saw the return of more snow and ice. Which led to some cut throat snow ball fights. (As in we all ganged up on the little guy). Who giggled and ran amidst all of the snow balls. He's an elusive little guy with the nimbleness of a baby deere. You can't catch me, Mama

Someone also became more handsome this week, with his hair cut. Have to keep it trim and suave for the ladies.  And someone knows just how to charm the beauticians, with a big grin and a mouth full of cookies. (Yes, he figured out where they stash the goodies). Mama, lost count after three cookies.

And yes, there was the return of self photo bombs. Anyone know who those big hands belong to?

But the big action news: the little guy fully participated in karate. Holler!  So off to Old MacDonald we went.  Lady, I'm going to need my dipping sauce with my chicken mcnuggets.
