It was a busy week in this household. Let's start with the Return of the Grasshopper.
The little guy did awesome yesterday in karate. Fully participated-fully listened. There is a moral in this story. The others started fast. From day one, no butt in the air, doing all commands (show offs, if you will). But not our little grasshopper. (With this one, the force is strong, my friends). No, the little guy warmed into it, feeling his oats. And somewhere along the way, the boy totally got it.
Which gets me back to yesterday. Three of the strong starters had mini meltdowns. One bawled after the Master slammed his pads together for quietness. Not the little guy, he simply sat there, with a silent confidence of "is that all you got". The other two were given timeouts for bad behavior. Again, the little guy had the look of "been there-done that". Nothing rattles the boy. Instead he sat quietly, and womped the heck out of the pads when it was his turn. And after each of his session, he gave Mama a big nod and smile, as if to say "I got this Mama"
