Week in a Rewind: October 25th

Experiencing a little technical difficulties with picture upload. Hopefully, they upload soon.

The week began with the little guy and Daddy making cupcakes for Mama's birthday. He insisted that I check them out multiple times while they were baking. Truthfully, they came out really good. But I suspect someone did more testing than actual helping....at least, that's how it sounded. Daddy: don't put your finger in the bowl. Little guy:  no.  Truly entertaining to watch and hear...

Then there was the sudden realization that the little guy can climb. And I mean really climb. For years, we've nixed the climbing bars at the playground. But last weekend, he climbed right to the top...the getting down was a little scarier for him.  But he tackled it after I showed him Mama's secret way of getting down.

I'm pretty sure that someone has running in his future. At least he has the look part down. I turned around to see Daddy's running gear on him. Complete with head band and ear plugs. Oh boy, let's hope he doesn't take up Daddy's short shorts ensemble.  Mama, real men wear short shorts!

Last night, I caught the little guy playing firemen with his trucks, complete with lots of loud sirens and full on fire talk conversations. It made me smile..to which the response was, Mama not funny.  Apparently, it's hard work putting out fake fires, who knew.

I'll end with a preview to next week, what can fly through the sky with the slightest of thread?

Week on Rewind: October 18

The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. On Monday, we went looking for the perfect one...ok, so maybe three pumpkins. And that meant, a lot of running after the little guy in his quest. Whew!
Mama did manage to snap a few action shots.

And when we got home...we made jack'o'laterns. Although with one minor issue, ours is a one tooth lantern (pathetically sad). thanks to someone pushing full force and taking two additional teeth with it.

Grandpa Linn would certainly be proud of the little guy...he LOVES his farms. Humming a happy tune during the hay ride.  Racing to any farm animal.  Pointing out all tractors. My little, country boy

Of course, he is a little bit city too in his growing love for SC (ok, so there has been a little influence, Uncle Michael). I came down this morning to him singing Fight On. That's my boy!  Beat the Irish!

Learning to Spell

Lately, the little guy has gotten pretty close to spelling his name. Success tonight! The Z is backward only because he started out in that direction. And he now spells Mom.

So proud of himself too

Week in Rewind Oct 11th

Life is a blast when you're having fun!  And what a fun week it has been for us.

First off , Mommy's Dragon Boat race.   A long day with lots of good food and amazing girls. A 2nd place finish in the second round brought lots of hoots and hollers., especially since we're known as the fun boat--and not the competitive boat. Who says you can't have fun and win too!

And when your having fun, you have to look the part. New clothes for the little guy. Ok, ok so the fun factor was only secondary when we quickly realized that he had no long pants!  Mommy wouldn't it be more fun if I parade around in my Spider-Man panties?

There was also a different type of fun this week. As in, hey, where is Teddy---right before bed. A mad dash around the house with no Teddy insight. That led to a quick drive to the hair salon to find him in the parking lot.  Fun, fun, fun!

Then there was the best sort of fun, a visit from Pop Pop, Mom Mom and Great Grandmom.  We had a last swim in the pool on a glorious October day.  It sure was nice to see a healthy Great Grandmom and  always super nice Mom Mom.  Pop Pop, of course, spent his time on the floor playing cars with the little guy

Week in Rewind: Oct 4Th

This week saw the return of the little guy's arch nemesis: the witch! Last year, the little guy was completely afraid of her. And who could blame him with the witch saying such things as "Z give me your candy" or "behave Z, don't make me grab my broom and head inside". This year, the little guy shows the trepidation of a three year old. Pretty sure it's Mama making those witch sounds but not entirely bought in, wink wink. Which, of course, can work to Mama's advantage. "Don't make me call the witch"

The little guy continues to show his love of golf. Did Dadday somehow bribe the boy? The boy really likes to take a big swings. Often forgetting the all important task of hitting the ball. "It's all about the big swing Mama"
