Happy Birthday Uncle Jason

Yesterday, we headed over for a birthday celebration.  Happy Birthday Uncle Jason.  After feasting on a nice steak dinner, it was time to light up the cake and sing happy birthday. Someone had blue icing all over himself....how does he do it!

Week in Rewind

This week saw the return of rowing. Or as we liked to say, we twirked across the river like Miley Cyrus

The little guy did his best to cheer us on.  Mama, in a big boat?  Yes, Mama in a big boat.
It was a gorgeous night on the river.

And someone managed to sneak into our picture....ladies, shouldn't I be front and center?

Week in Rewind

This week saw the sudden joys of vacation come to an end. What a week it was, beach dog parks, a Dolphin cruise, lovely Cape May and rockin Ocean City. There was plenty of boardwalk games and sand. Oh the sand, someone is obsessed with it. And truthfully, his mama loves it too.  Dadda, on the other hand, was so proud that the little guy loves golf.  Yes, the little guy scampered around the shore's putt putt courses, making mince meat out of them. My turn my turn, and then a quick run to place his ball right next to the hole. Which gotta Mama thinking, isn't this really how golf should be played?

Someone was enamored with the hotel elevator. Mama, who needs an ocean when I can push elevator buttons all day long. Or as the little guy liked to say "I do. I do" boldly emphazing that he was the king operator.

This week, we also lost our Korean tutor to school.  The little guy was pretty sad. Luckily, her sister is going to help us. We'll miss her, she played a big part in introducing the little guy to the Korean language.

Two Years Ago

We are inching toward our two year anniversary of becoming a complete family.  We've watched him grow from a baby to a toddler. He's grown taller, wiser and seemingly overnight became a handsome little boy.  Everyday, he rocks our world.

Here's our 2nd anniversary letter to our son:

Above all else, always believe in love. The love that you have given us is beyond words. My favorite time of night is bedtime when I get my kiss and hear you say "I love you"

There will be challenges in life and some day's feel like they will never end. Don't you worry baby boy, we have your back.

Be confident in yourself. You are special and will continue to do great things with your life.  You already have shown greatness.

Always keep that sheepish smile. Smiling people are generally happier people. And you want to be happy in life

The bonds of family can never be broken. You are so very lucky to be loved by so many people. Remember that as you go out in life.

Friends make life fun, whether it be a close few or hundreds. Find good friends

Closeness to God is important. Make him your best friend and you will never feel alone

Experience the love of a pet. Unconditional

Work hard to better yourself. Life is about evolving.

Be a player in life. Don't sit on he sidelines. Live with no regret

We want so much for you.  But above all, we wish for happiness and love.  Money doesn't buy those things. It's about balancing your life. Find out what makes you happy and pursue it relentlessly, that applies to work and family.  You see, Mama and Dadda were out of balance unil we found you. Great jobs, nice lifestyle, but still something was missing. That something was you.

Week in Rewind: Birthday Style

Last weekend, the in laws came in for a quick visit for Grandpop's birthday.  The little guy was in his glory.  So many people vying for his attention. Mama, is this how Mickey feels?  I'm liking this star status. He hoped along from one lap to the other.

And then there was his cousin, Cameron. The little guy idolized him. They spent hours in the pool. Thank you Cam for making the little guy feel special.

There was also a quick trip over to Pop Pop's for pictures. Someone was not in the picture taking mood. Mama, the papazozzi was all over me. A boy can only take so many cute pictures.  Yes, someone already has a star's mentality.

We celebrated Grandpop's birthday in grand style, well maybe not grand, but definitely the Heid way.
Barbecue, dinner on the deck, a frozen (iceberg frozen) cake, and laughter.

The next morning, they headed home.  But wait, someone forgot her running shoes?  Interesting. The trend continues.  Mom Mom brings a ton of shoes, only to forget one of them. They did a quick turn around and grabbed them. After which, they really did head to Ohio. Or as the little guy said, they'll be back later Mama.  It's too quiet without them.

Week in Rewind

Last Sunday, the little guy and Mama cheered Daddy on with his second sprint Tri.  Someone insisted that Teddy come along.  And who could resist?  Cute, no

We were the loudest fans on that corner. With every passing, the little guy screamed. GO. GO. Something tells me he have this in his future. Speed racer, baby.  Mama, I look good in a tri suit.

The funny part, Daddy passed us three times. This is the best photo could come up with.  First time, completely missed him. Second, he was behind the pole. Third time, trailing a girl!  I kid, Daddy actually was super fast. He lapped that girl.

And afterward, the little guy and I hit the Dunkin Donuts on the other corner. Partners in crime.
