Week in Rewind

As Will Smith so eloquently sang, "Summer, Summer, Summer. Summertime". Oh yeah, the weather turned hot this week, as in 90 degrees hot.  First officially heat wave of summer. Not bad, considering last week it was freezing

The little guy has made a quick recovery of his cold. Take that fever. And is now full speed ahead. So ladies, out came the swim trunks. What swim outfit would  be complete without blue swim googles. Now mind you, these are merely a show stopper. The little guy has no intention of actually using them in the water.  There for show Mama, geeze

Tomorrow we head to Dadda's office picnic. Last year, the food was incredible. And this year, someone will be back witha vengeance. More, ribs Mama

Until then, we'll be stylin in the pool. Summertime, ladies!

Week in Rewind

It's been kind of a blah holiday for us. Not that we don't appreciate the sacrifices that many have made for our freedom. But when the holiday starts with another sinus infection for mama and now a sick little guy, some of the umpf goes out of it

But we managed to have some fun, regardless. Sunday saw the return of heavy winds. Say, is that Miss Mattie flying by us. Yeah we're talking that type of winds, toto like. That didn't stop us from a bike ride walking the dogs. Mama, look I can fly.

Today very nice weather, but a little guy that's not feeling well. Did he just say no to lunch? Trust me, that never happens. A big nap and burst of energy saw the little guy riding his bike, making silly faces and yes, playing some golf. I wonder who got those for him??? But at last, all we really want to do is sit under the umbrella, rock to sleep and listen to the blue birds. Life is good, no

Finally, special birthday wishes to Aunt Leta, Uncle Dale and Aunt Toni. Super cool people that the little guy is lucky to have in his life.

Happy Memorial Day. And thanks be to all who have sacrificed.

Happy Memorial Day

Day At Zoo

Yesterday, we headed to the zoo with Pop Pop and Mom Mom.  To say someone had a really good time would be an understatement. This morning, Mama we go to the zoo again today?

There was the really cool new children's zoo.  The little guy had great fun moving recycled trash to show how much energy was saved (thanks Mom Mom).  Then we happened upon the really cool ant exhibit. Hey, wait a minute Mama, we have our own exhibit at the house.  Yes buddy, yes we do.

The polor bears were a little downer this year. But Pop Pop captured an awesome bear pic, which will be uploaded soon. A hint, this little boy doesn't scare easily.  The biggest hit, a long lanky giraffe who showed persistency and a very long tongue leads to a nice leafy snack.  And, of course, the little guy pimped his ride, with a good old fashion pony ride. Well hello there ladies. Care for a ride?

Thanks to the grandparents for an awesome day.  The little guy loved his day. And konked out on the way home.

Week in Rewind

So, this week started with a bit of a scare. Daycare called to say that the little guy fell and has a loose tooth. Now to put this in perspective, Korea pulled two of his bottom teeth because they were natal. His current issue involves the upper front. So Mama initially panicked because loosing the top tooth would be disastrous for good pictures (were not vain really!). So off to the dentist we rushed....only to learn there is a 50% chance that he could lose it. So far the tooth is hanging in there. We're just hoping that it waits awhile to come out.   The best part, I quietly explained that he needed to be "extra careful" because of his loose tooth. This pep rally speech was short lived. He quickly stormed out of the car and immediately fell (yes, face forward). This boy will be the end of me!

This week also renewed our search for a Korean tutor. Which has been surprisingly hard!  We really want him to have some Korean language skills. And I was reenergized this week by a colleague that has 3 kids all learning Spanish as a second language. His words, start ASAP because once turn 5 it gets much harder. So, we continue our quest. There has to be someone out there that can help this handsome little boy, with or without teeth, right!

Someone also graduated o the big boy cup (like Mama's). What he fails to see is that this big cup makes his milk look small. More Mama, More. He also has taken to sitting at the stool to watch as I cook dinner. Say Mama, that looks to be overdone. And where in the world did this kid gets his appetite. I'm just saying, the boy can put it down. Or as the dentist said, "he's 3, wow!  My roommate in college was Korean and he was 6'2 and 200 pounds. I wouldn't want to be the North Koreans". Exactly. Or as Mama likes to say I wouldn't want to be the kid who pokes fun of him for missing some teeth!

Happy Mother's Day

To my silly goose

I consider myself lucky to have been raised by such an amazing mother. Then, i struck gold when another amazing mother entered my life.  And then you came along and rocked my world.  You gave me a cherishable gift, motherhood

I am so proud to be your mother.  It seems so long ago, that I would rush home to get any update on your status while in Korea. We've done a lot since getting you home but these are some of my favorites.....from this year

1. Swing time at the park. Never forget your first superman swing and now you sit like a big boy, begging me to push you higher.

2. Swimming. One of the first things that we did when you got home. Surfs up Mama

3.  Laughter. I love your belly laugh so much.

4.  Coloring eggs. You kept us all entertained

5.  Bike riding. Fun to watch you zoom around the park while Mama plays catch up

6. Parading around after a shower. Ladies, someone has a pretty darn cute bum

7.  The look.  A devilish glance that you give when trying to be funny

8. That sweet little voice that sings his favorite nursery ryhmes

9. Those beautiful, dreamy brown eyes.

10. Sensitivity. The I love you, kisses and hugs.

My favorite, when you say "Mama is so proud of me". Indeed, I couldn't be more proud to be your mother.  I love you silly goose

Kentucky Derby Pick Has Been Made

The serious business of picking our horses is done. They going to race Mama?

Little guy has 2
Dada has 3
Mama has 6, with a female jockey

And the winner is 16. But the little guy's horse gave it a nice run. Just got tired. Or as the little guy so eloquently said, my horse went home for dinner.

1st Place Overall for Dadda!

Week In Rewind

What would the world be without modern marvels? This week, the little guy talked to both grandparents through FaceTime. Now, let me set the stage. Initially, there is the squeal of delight of Pop Pop. This is quickly followed with his illusive side of dashing into and out of site. Another cool feature, the grandparents see many wonderful sites such as the ceiling, sofa and table. Then there is the finale good bye which often results in the little guy pushing the button with someone in mid sentence. And, of course, lets not forget the call back. Yes, I said it: the call back. It seems that someone has gotten quiet good with making this call unannounced to everybody. Ladies, the call back is coming your way soon

Speaking of gentlemanly ways. This week, someone had to go pee pee REALLY REALLY BADLY while playing outside. Now Mama assessed the situation and quickly determined that with no one around it was time to unveil the "outdoor emergency potty". Which, I might add worked just fine. Until....someone had to poopy and promptly pulled down the pants to go. Try explaining that outdoor pee pee is only fine during an emergency. But poppy never ever can be done. Come again Mama

The little guy continues to charm his swim lesson mates, particularly the mothers. Let me tell you, when this little boy kicks his big feet, it makes a very big splash. And one mother with her beautifully upswung hair was none happy. She did her best to stay her distance. But the little guy true to his charm left the pool with one big kick, that landed you know where. If you can't take the heat ladies, please step aside
