Goodbye Hurricane Sandy

At long last, Huricane Sandy has come and gone. For days, we knew that our region was going to take a direct hit. And hit us, she did.  But look who's still standing. That's right. It takes more than 70mph winds to knock this little Trojan down.

Heavy rain brought indoor play time. Choo, Choo.  And a gallop round the park before the rain officially began.  For others, heavy rain brought sleep time. It's raining, yawn. Please don't wake me with any of those countless hurricane updates, unless of course, it looks like my dinner will wash downstream.

Mid-day brought evn more gluttony as the little guy slept upstairs, mama watched a movie while dada played games on his phone.  The pups you may ask?  Still sleeping, something tells me that this is not really out of the norm for them!

Dinner brought high winds as the menacing hurricane made its way onshore. Please don't let the electric go, please don't...click, no lights. And with that, we lit our candles and made our way upstairs to bed.  Darn you Sandy...

Which led to the following observations:

Two dogs cuddled at Mama's feet.....cramped
A little guy tucked between us and snoring very loudly.....exhausting
Mama having no blankets on a bed full of extra blankets....cold
Spending the night as a family during a crazy hurricane....priceless

Week in Review

It's been a crazy busy week in this household.

On Monday, the in-laws headed back to Ohio, which made the little guy very sad. And Mama went out of town for a few days as well.  That left Dada and the little guy to fend for themselves.  What happens between the boys, stays with the boys.

Wednesday brought amazing weather and a long walk in the park.  Someone also figured out a new trick on the swing set.  I did it Mama.

Thursday, Mama found an amazing train table with her online garage group. We've been scoping one of those for a long time. So when one became available, we pounced on it.

Friday, brought a trip to the grocery store and the prediction of a terrible storm heading our way on Monday.  Let the Hurricane preparation begin.  Ugh!

Saturday, the train table arrived and someone was very, very happy.  We ended our night with the little guy saying night night to his train table.  We believe that someone is upstairs dreaming happy thoughts revolving  around his Choo Choo.  All is well in the world.

We had a great Mama's Birthday weekend with my parents and two uncles coming into town.

There were The Boys putting in the kitchen sink. Yeah, a double sink that is deep. Kudos to Dada and Uncle Larry for doing. Love it

Saturday brought apple picking with Grandmom and Uncle Dick. Someone was super happy running around the orchards.

Sunday brought Mama's birthday. After a busy day that involved the Apple store (am I the only one that has major issues with the new software update) and the finishing of my beautiful sink, we headed to dinner, to do what we do best eat. And eat we did, but not without some silliness from the little guy. Uncle Dick learned to watch his peas because someone really likes peas. Say, are you eating those. And then Dada had a nice cake waiting for us at home.

Today I realized what I miss about my family living in Ohio, the loving chaos that only comes from a tight knit family. A little guy hoping around in pure bliss chasing Paw Paw. A hubby and uncles huddled around my torn up sink. A Grandmom tending to the every wishes of a little guy (geeze). a Mama that bothered everyone trying to figure out the color of hardwood floors.

And this from only one side of the family. Think of the damage we can do with all hands on deck with Dada's family too. Thanksgiving here we come. World prepare yourself for utter chaos and one happy little boy

Ok, so we have a little secret....the little guy and his Mama are totally bad when Dada isn't home. First, we totally wait until his car is out of site. And then, the ruckus begins.

We dance until the cows come out. Moo Mama.

We walk the dogs to the beat of our own drum, who says you can't wear a winter hat when it's sunny and 70 out

We eat chocolate ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Take that calorie counters

We do a gig when the little guy poops on the potty. Twizzler's Mama. And then, he runs around naked in celebration...that's right, the little guy likes to show off the bum bum, oh yeah

So if your looking for fun and chaos you know where it can be found. Dear Lord, when will Dada be home!

Why?

Ok, so his foster mom was spot on with her analysis: All Boy. Yes ladies, we have a great adventurer on our hands. He can climb small mountains, leap from ungodly heights and yes, save a kitten in distress with one hand.

Of course there is the occasional hiccup when Mama says don't stand on something.

Mama, you're totally ruining my super hero groove!

Oh Yeah, My Mama's A Witch!

Last weekend, Dada and the little guy cheered me on as Boat VI of The Witches of East Greenwich. Mama was proud to be a member of this super awesome group of girls.

Did I tell you that we had a blast. We may not have placed first but this group rolls with the best of them

Pumpkin Patch

It's the GREAT PUMPKIN Charlie Brown....

In the perfect world of a little guy, a cow covered tractor. Does life get any better

As you can see there was a lot of Mama running to catch up to a dashing little guy. Must keep going

Tractor Ride, oh yeah!

Today, we headed over to a local fam o pick our pumpkins out.  And someone had an absolutely fabulous time. There was this little calf who came over to say hi.  Moo Mama

And the little guy picked the absolute best pumpkin out of the lot. This one Mama.

Lets not forget the corn maze. Really Mama, this is not the time for pictures. Too much to see and do.  Is this where the Children of the Corn came from?

Move it people. One super excited little guy coming through

Tractor Mama. Oh how, this litte one loves you.
