Week in Rewind

This week in rewind is pictureless, thanks to blogger. Can't seem to upload them all day long, will do as soon as possible.

For now, here's the week in rewind.

Monday started with mama in the field locally. We spent the week talking about kid stuff at lunch. Good to hear others approaches to different situations. Collectively, we shall overcome...

Tuesday, the little guy seems to be really getting this potty thing. Now he is starting to tell us when he has to go. The best is when he cheers mama and dada when we go, yeah mama with a clap.

Wednesday, the little guy learned he has "hops". Literally, hops. As in, he hops everywhere these days.

Thursday, mama figured out that we really need to teach this kid how to catch a ball. Throwing, no problem. Catching, well a different story. Baby boy, stop looking at the ceiling, the ball is on the floor, concentrate. I know mama, but when I'm the SC quarterback I won't have to catch the ball....I'll be catching song girls instead!

Friday, my baby girl went to the vet. She has a boo boo on her leg. Let's hope it doesn't mean surgery. That could really put a damper on stealing food from the little guy

Saturday, a cook out at the inlaws. And getting to watch another couple successfully become a family with two beautiful Chinese girls. Also got some valuable advice. Neat to see how close and loving they are as a family. Thanks for paving the way... .

And this breaking news, the little guy slept in a big boy bed last night. And loved it. Mama, on the other hand, jumped all night with any noise. To no avail, the little guy slept wonderfully all night long.

Sunday, the Olympics and rooting for Americans and Koreans. Fun fact, which schools now has a gold medal in the last 100 Olympics...

Still Smiling

You know what always puts a smile on my face. Hearing the litte guy say "Bye Mama" in his soft litle voice as I lay him down to bed. Sweet dreams my precious little boy...

As we get closer to our one year anniversary of bringing him home(few more weeks), I'm reminded how blessed we are. This time last year was filled with planning and anticipation. What a difference a year makes...now, we plan and anticipate what the little guy will do next.

So as I sit watching the sunset tonight, my thoughts turn to a place half way around the world, Korea.

Breakfast for Dinner

Week in Rewind

Monday, dear goodness where to begin. Lactose intolerant and ice crem, enough said. On the positive side,we got a lot of potty practice with 12 false positives in under an hour.

Tuesday, the litle guy made a nice recovery. Mama and Dada stayed at home just in case.

Wednesday, Strawberries Mama. A little out of season here but I couldn't resist. A litle guy favorite. Umh!

Thursday, Mama had another massage to work out her It Band. Quick bike ride in the park, which promptly made Mama's muscles sore. Need to schedule another blissful massage..

On Thursday, it also occurred to me that Dada should not be responsible for dressing the little guy. Geez Dada, turquoise plaid shorts and a turquoise strip shirt don't go. How am i supposed to get the ladies dressed like this....

Friday, social security time. We applied for his number, which took over 2 hours. Note to self, never again underestimate the slowness of gov agencies. In two weeks, we'll officially have his number, another step almost done. And then we can set up his college plan.

And we finished out the week with breakfast for dinner. Which went over very well with the litle guy, more Mama.

I'm Suave and I Know It

There's been an interesting little development to the start of our week. Let's just say that we confirmed that someone is lactose intolerant. And yes, Mama really should not have given him ice cream yesterday. But it was strawberry, Mama.

This has led to a potty issue and not of the good kind. I knew I was in trouble when daycare called to say that he went three times in an hour. So off I went to retrieve him.

Which promptly led to 8 false alarms in an attempt to dismiss nap time. Fool me once shame on me...

Luckily, he's now sleeping and poopy free, for now. Holla

My Dancin Baby

Week in Rewind

Where did this week go? On Monday, Mama had her first practice with her entire dragon boat crew. It was a little bumpy at times, but we should get better with time, right. Our race isnt until October so it will be fun to see how we progress. For his part, the little guy will get to wear a tshirt that says "my mommy is a witch" because our boat is the Witches of East Greenwich.

Tuesday, was a quiet night. Happy to report that daycare is now putting him on potty...and he is going. Big Yeah, not bad for a newly minted two year old.

Wednesday brought a bike ride in the park. Faster Ma Faster!

Thursday, someone had a check up. And I'm happy to report the little guy is doing fine. 90th percentile in height and weight.

Friday, oh sweet Friday. Someone gets to stay up an hour later for bedtime. Mama strike up the band, it's time to dance.

Saturday, Pizza Pizza Pizza Mama. Someone likes his pie. Too bad he doesn't attack his veggies with the same vigor.

Sunday, oh how fast this day goes. Another bike ride this time with dada towing him, Did i mention that he's in the 90th percentile. Pool time in the afternoon.

As we just put him down for the night I'm reminded how lucky we are to have him in our life. Nothing like watching his little eyes fight sleep to be near us.

Last Night with Family

Day At The Beach

It's been a busy and fun last few days in this household. Yesterday, we went to the beach and got our surf on. There was lunch at our favorite pizza shop. A walk on the boardwalk. And swimming in the ocean. Someone was a little unsure of the waves.

The Big Two

Yesterday, the little guy turned two. And the whole family got together to celebrate.

It was a very special day since we just missed out on last year's birthday. Hard to imagine that the little guy has been home almost a year. And what an impact he has had on us. The top 10 things we love about the little guy turning two

1. That tiny voice saying Mama and Dada.
2. His love for the entire family
3. The joy of watching him learn something new
4. The piddle paddle of his feet across the kitchen floor
5. The big hugs and kisses that he gives
6. His mischievous litle smile
7. His adventurous side
8. Ticky, ticky time at bedtime
9. Showing your independence
10. Making our family complete

We love you silly goose. Happy 2nd Birthday!

Someone blew out his birthday candle. And he really got into the birthday singing especially since it was for him. Pretty cute to hear him sing his own birthday song. We get asking who's birthday. The response,it's Z's birthday, all while patting his chest.

The crew helped the litle guy open his presents. But truth be told, the little guy figured it out pretty quickly and Mama could barely keep up. Get a move on it Mama, there are more gifts to open.

And this precious gift is a keeper, a homemade bib fom Great Grandmom. Doesn't he look handsome in it? So refined!

And someone will be rocking with this gift fom Pop Pop and Mom Mom. A king in his big boy chair, how cool

The day would not be complete without a chow down. Dada did a great job of cooking hamburger and hot dogs for all.

Birthday Boy!
