A Cold One Please

Week in Rewind

Here are some of our memorable moments from last week: On Tuesday, someone had his beautiful hair cut. But before a trip on the chair, the little guy made a quick getaway to the cookie jar. And let's just say that he cleaned the joint out. On Wednesday, the little guy showed us the joys of the terrible twos. Can you say arched backed and wailing screams. I have to admit it's tough during these times. But on a brighter note, it's super cute when he rolls the potty lip out with the scrounged up nose. Oh, if he could only see himself! Terrific Thursday had us mowing the grass on the tractor, as the little guy likes to say. Only issue, he wasnt quiet ready to quit when the lawn was finished. This lead to a night of fingerprinting and saying, tractor, tractor, tractor. (I foresee a good negotiator in the future) Fantastic Friday. Someone was very happy for his nana! And he eagerly attempted to share his milk with Teddy, his new best bud. As I write, someone is peacefully sound to sleep upstairs. And to little pups are blissfully sleeping as well. Oh the joys of a quiet house!

A Boy and His Teddy

A Boy and His Teddy

With rain in tomorrow's forecast, we made the most of being outdoors. And we were handsomely rewarded with a near perfect day. With a trip to the local nursery, Mama finished her last garden by the pool. Can't wait to see those flowers fill out. For his part, the little guy introduced Teddy to outdoor living. Let's just hope Mama remembers to bring him in before the rain. And we went on a bike ride, with the little guy's pimped out bicycle. Holler, it comes with a bell to honk at the ladies! With a complete day in the books, it's off to bath time. So we bid you adieu.

Fun Filled Day

Today, Pop Pop and Mom Mom came over for a visit. And after, at first, being shy, someone turned on the charms by the end. We took a walk around the property to check out the flowers (Mom Mom shares a special passion for her flowers and her beautiful yard reflects it). So we always look for valuable pointers. For his part, the little guy is a big time mulcher!

We then had a mini picnic in which Dada did a great job of making Bison burgers. But the real fun began when Pop Pop threw the little guy into the air (did we mention that he loves to rough house).

We're really lucky to have two really wonderful grandparents and one extra special great Grandmom. Life is good and we are really blessed, in many ways!

Fun at the Park

The last full day at home is always bitter sweet. That's why we decided to make the most of it. After bidding his best bubba goodbye, we headed to the park. The working fort was a huge hit for the little guy. I seriously lost count how many times he went down the slides. Mama, however, appreciated the throw back horses fom when she was a little girl (funny but I don't remember having difficulties getting on and off them when I was a kid). We then headed over to the new bridge to look for fish (someone was enthralled with finding fish). Unfortunatly, as we told the little guy, they must have been sleeping.

Mama spent many good years as a child at this park. Some of my favorite memories are of playing softball with good friends, all with the loving support of our parents (including a magical run in tournaments that was simply priceless). Yesterday, it was nice to bring some of that magic to the little guy with my mom and dad.

Egg Hunt

We had an action packaged Easter, that was very exciting for the little guy. For one, with all of the family around, someone refused to take a nap. There was just to many people to see and things to do.

There was the Easter Egg hunt. And the little guy had plenty of help, Uncle Dale and Dick, Aunt Margie, Grandmom, and Grandpop. We clapped and cheered with each new finding. (for the record, we did 4 separate hunts)

Let's not forget, the wonderful dinner with a huge group of family members. Someone had a momentarily lapse until the food arrived. (it was nap time Mama)

Then there was the assorted sweets (can someone say second wind), baskets and a special gift from Uncle Dick and Larry, his first bible personally engraved with his name and included a copy of poems that Mama's grandmother cherished, simply priceless

Of course, the men gathered around the tv to watch the exciting finish to the Masters. Guess who was right in the middle of it clapping! And we think Uncle Michael introduced a new word: Bubba. Thank you Uncle Michael

The day was finished off with an extremely tired little guy. No complaints when finally put down. A hard day of playing deserves a hard night sleep!

We hope everyone else had such a great day. It's a day to celebrate. Here's our day in rewind. Happy Easter everyone!
